As of December 20th, the UW Libraries will accept WyoOne identification cards for circulation and photocopying purposes by University students, faculty, and staff. The “W-number” printed on the front of the ID cards is used for borrowing Prospector items (What is Prospector?) from other participating libraries. Library users that are still using their CampusExpress card are encouraged to replace them with a WyoOne card as soon as possible and then destroy the older cards since they are encoded with users’ Social Security numbers. This is a campus-wide changeover so all campus agencies will now require the WyoOne card for identification. For more information check the University’s WyoOne website.

Library users that have a library-issued identification card (entitled “University of Wyoming, the University Libraries” and with a barcode) will not be affected by this changeover.

If you have questions about the changeover of ID cards by the Libraries, please contact Coe Library Circulation at 307-766-3190.

A message for students and faculty from Interlibrary Loan:

Due to the large number of libraries that close their Interlibrary Loan Offices during the Christmas break, the UW Interlibrary Loan Offices will not be ordering materials from December 15, 2006 through January 2, 2007. Please feel free to submit your orders during this time and we will process them on January 3rd.

If you have a special need during this time, please stop by the office and we will see what we can do to help. We look forward to serving you during the coming year.

You may still order materials from Colorado libraries through Prospector between December 15th and January 2nd.

Preparing to turn in your final papers?

Follow these three easy steps and you can avoid losing valuable points on the Works Cited Page and wow your instructor with your bibliography-building prowess:

1) Find out the basic format for your citations.

    • - Quick links to online style guides can be accessed here.
    • - All major style guides (MLA, APA, CBE, Chicago) are available in Coe Library Reference on the first floor.

    • - Reference Librarians are happy to help you interpret the rules and find the best format for all your sources.
    • - Not in the library? Ask us from home!

3) Using an EbscoHost database to find articles? Take a shortcut!

    • - Email the citation to yourself and select your citation style from the menu on the right.
    • - Cut and paste the citation from your email to the Works Cited page.
