Two pieces of good news about UW master’s theses:

1) Starting this year, all UW theses will be submitted and stored electronically. You can access .pdf versions of UW dissertations and theses from Digital Dissertations, available through the UW Libraries’ website under Articles & Databases.

2) The UW Libraries are digitizing old theses. About 200 per week are copied into electronic format and appear in Digital Dissertations as they are completed.

This is all great news for researchers and librarians, as the old print copies of theses were prone to destruction, whether by water, fire, or smudge-y erasable bond.  Plus, with electronic copies, you can read a thesis from home while wearing pajama pants, rather than reading it on microfilm in the basement of Coe.

If you have any trouble finding a thesis or dissertation, let us know!
