If you need primary sources for a project, the United Nation’s new World Digital Library might fit the bill. The library includes over 1,200 high-resolution digitized copies of documents and photographs from all over the world, from ancient times to the present. You can search by keyword, location, era, and more.

You’ll find documents like the Declaration of Independence, the Tale of Genji, and numerous maps and travel diaries. Modern content includes photographs of a young George W. Bush, as well as the 1972 hitchhiker seen above with his dog, Tripper.

ILLC Addition to Coe Library

Wondering how to get into Coe Library? The doors on 13th Street closed today and all entering and exiting will now be through the brand-spanking new doors!

You can find the new doors on the North side of the new Coe Library addition. You may access the entrance via the Union parking lot, via the sidewalk from 13th Street between the Union and Coe Library, or via the sidewalk from Ivinson Street that runs between the Business Building and Coe Library.

Questions? We’re happy to help and we look forward to seeing you in the new addition!

Agnes Milstead Distinguished Librarianship Award

University of Wyoming reference librarian Michael Nelson received the 2009 Agnes Milstead Award for Distinguished Librarianship on April 16, 2009 in recognition of his long-standing commitment to scholarship, collection building, and outstanding reference service.  I think I can speak for all of our colleagues when I say that if you have a question about advanced searching or reference sources, or you are curious about the multiple perspectives on a thorny reference or collection issue, Mike is the man to ask first!  Congratulations on a well deserved award!
