About Construction Conditions

Throughout the renovation and construction project, University Libraries will keep patrons with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) informed about MCS issues including painting, installation of carpet, and other items of concern. The libraries will post signs in Coe Library and alert the University Disability Support Services so they can notify their clients. You may also check back with this Webpage for current and archived information.

Though dust is not typically considered an MCS issue, demolition and construction is expected to increase the amount of dust in Coe Library in spite of the contractors’ best efforts to control it. Patrons sensitive to dust will want to use Request It for access to materials and Ask a Librarian for reference assistance.

If you have concerns or questions about construction conditions, please contact Sandy Barstow at 307-766-5621 or by e-mail at barstow@uwyo.edu

Street Closure

The construction work at Coe Library will require that 13th Street between the library and Knight Hall be closed to vehicles for approximately three weeks beginning Monday, Oct. 15. The work will also require closure of the north lane of Ivinson Street at the intersection of 13th Street and Ivinson.

Pedestrian traffic from Ivinson to Prexy’s Pasture will be routed around construction activities. The alley serving Hoyt, Knight and Ross Halls and the Student Health building will be open to two-way traffic but limited to service vehicles and vehicles using ADA parking. Vehicles can enter from Ivinson Street between Knight and Hoyt Halls.
