Construction News for Spring Semester 2009

Currently, work continues primarily on the finish work of the interior of the addition to Coe Library. The contractor is installing ceiling grids, lighting, wood trim, paint, and carpet, working from the lower levels upper ward. At levels three and four of the 70s addition, the contractor is installing metal framing and gypsum board and utility rough-ins.

The new addition to Coe Library is scheduled to open mid to late semester. When a date is firmed up, an official announcement will be released. Important items to be aware of during this semester include:

  • Entrance to Coe Library is scheduled to move from 13th Street to the new addition (South) facing the Wyoming Union. Keep an eye out for an official announcement of this milestone event.
  • Collections will be moving again during this semester. Notices will be posted throughout the building.
  • Departments, offices, and computer labs, on Level 1 and Level 2 of the original building of Coe Library (1950s) will be relocating to accommodate the renovation of those levels mid or late semester.   Again, a date is not firm–so keep checking back for more details!

The renovation of Coe Library is expected to be complete September 2009.
