Collections Will Be Moving Again

Beginning October 23rd, select collections in Coe Library will be shifted to newly renovated areas in the library. The impact to patrons will be minimal and signage will be located throughout the building to help direct patrons to the correct location. If you need help finding something, stop by the reference/help desk on Level 2 near the circulation desk. The moves are expected to be complete by October 27th.

Interlibrary Loan to move into their new digs!

Contractors, FCI, are on schedule to complete all of the work on level 2 central. The conclusion of this project means that the Interlibrary Loan department will be relocating to their new digs on level 2 later this month. Once moved, stop in and visit with those who make interlibrary loan a reality!

Coe Library gets new blue emergency light/call center

Outside, in the area between Coe Library and the Wyoming Student Union, landscaping work continues. The plans involves the installation of a blue emergency light and call center, which will be located at the edge of the landscaping across from the windows of The Book & Bean Cafe.

Painting scheduled for Coe Library

Masking and spray-painting of aluminum window trim in the new addition of Coe Library will occur this week.

On Wednesday, June 24th, the painters will be working in the public areas. On Thursday and Friday, June 25th -26th, the painters will move on to private offices.

New Landscaping

Landscaping on the south side (Ivinson Street) of W. R. Coe Library has begun. Landscapers will be adding topsoil and installing a new sprinkler system. The current plan is to have sodding along Ivinson, west to 13th Street, completed by the end of May. They will also move the light fixture from the middle of the sidewalk between the College of Business and W. R. Coe Library later this summer. Additional landscaping will occur on the east side of the Wyoming Union, in the area between W. R. Coe Library and the union. The west side of the Wyoming Union will be re-landscaped at the end of the summer.

Coe Library Has A New Entrance!

The West Entrance to Coe Library is officially closed. Please use the North Entrance facing the Wyoming Union. Access to the new entrance is through the alley between the Wyoming Union and the library or via the sidewalk between Coe Library and the College of Business.

Book & Bean Cafe & Other Moving News

The Book & Bean Cafe will be moving next week (April 6th) to the new addition. The cafe will be closed during this transition and Java drinkers will need to find alternative sources of coffee for about a week. The cafe is expected to reopen in the new location later this month and you won’t be disappointed about the new facility.

Also in the coming month several other major events will take place. Slated for relocation to the new addition are computer stations, some staff and faculty members, books, and of course furniture (lots of it). Timing of these transitions are still being determined. However we do know that on Monday, April 6th, some of the computers on level 1 will be moving. We are updating signs in Coe Library daily–so keep an eye out for construction updates and how they may impact you.

And the more visible event this month is the relocation of the entrance to Coe Library. The new entrance will face the Wyoming Union parking lot and will be accessible through the union alley.

Collections are on the Move

Select collections within Coe Library are currently being relocated, new shelving is being installed, and old shelving will be reused or recycled. Keep on eye out for signs in Coe Library to help you find what you need. If in doubt, ask at the Reference desk or Circulation desk for assistance.

More Fire Alarm Testing Scheduled

In preparation for some more fire alarm testing, the electricians are testing fire panels today (March 23). This work is causing the magnetic hold-opens on some of the fire doors to lose their magnetism, closing the doors. Actual testing will occur tomorrow, and will take from about 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. We should not experience audible alarms other than brief beeps.
