The Imaging of the Herbarium of Grand Teton National Park

This is a project by Larry Schmidt and Mary Ann Harlow of the UW Libraries funded by the UW/NPS program.  High-resolution images of the ~6,300 herbarium specimens have been taken using a Canon 16.7 megapixel camera equipped with a macro lens and the associated specimen database has been edited and significantly improved.  More recently, Ben Legler has worked with the UW Libraries IT staff to make the images and associated database available on-line.   This represents a major step, along with the RM database, in providing coverage of the flora of the “Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem”.   The staff of the RM look forward to continuing this productive relationship between UW academic units.
